Intercultural Language Activities with CD-ROM (Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers) (Meki povez)

Are you looking for interesting activities that engage learners in cultural exploration and language learning? Intercultural Language Activities contains over 80 practical activities and projects that will enable your learners to examine not only their own language and culture, but also that of others. This book considers topics such as domestic and public life, childhood, food, icons, sport, politics and body language. It helps learners mediate in situations of cultural misunderstanding and gives them the ability to interpret cultural symbols and characteristics, such as those found in postcards, advertisements and newspapers. In engaging with these topics, learners become intercultural explorers and raise their level of communicative competence. This book also looks at the impact of electronic communication on intercultural language education and has a chapter dedicated to starting intercultural exchanges on the Internet. Offers an exciting mix of classroom activities and project work. Step-by-step instructions mean the activities are easy to use and require minimal preparation. Activities can be used in any order and at any point in a language programme. The CD-ROM provides print-friendly photocopiable worksheets and reading texts which can be put to immediate use.
